Some'tet

Welcome to our website. Make yourself at home, listen to our music, check out what we're up too.

Well! Here it is! Not only a newly recorded song but a music video as well. 'Hell Comes in Time' was recorded and produced by the Martin Feveyear here on Vashon Island. And the video was written and directed by the Shelley Hanna and World's Smallest Productions. Th song was written by Michael Whitmore. A big thanks to all those who acted in it -- Theo, Sophia, Harper, Kristy, Jonathan and Analeya! Thank you! And of course a big thanks to the Snapdragon Cafe and the Wild Mermaid Market.

Sunday, Feb 2nd, 2020, live from the Black Cat Cabaret, Vashon WA, Some'tet with very special guests -- from Spain, Ricardo Garcia on guitar. From Japan, Yuichiro Tokuda on sopranino sax, plus Vashon’s own Rusty Willoughby on drums! Face in the Fire is the song.

Here's a live video of I Heard the Owls Talking, filmed at the Vashon Center for the Arts on Vashon Island, WA, in September 2018. Filmed and edited by Shelley Hanna. Special guest on trombone is Dan Baker. "I heard the owls talking and they were talking about you / Something about somebody and how somebody got screwed / Who who?"

From the Vashon Center for the Arts gig in September 2018, Naked in the Leaves, Some’tet getting abstract. “Sometimes you end up in a tree / naked in the leaves / as happy as can be …”

Sunday, July 16th, 2017, during our Snapdragon gig, tenor saxophonist Kevin Nortness sat in with us. We had met him here, on Vashon Island, a couple of weeks earlier, found out we had several friends in common, but other than seeing us play at the Earshot Second Century Jazz Series the previous week, he had never heard nor played any of our songs. This was fun! Here is Naked in the Leaves.

Here it is ... a long long, long version of Face in the Fire, and yes its 12 minutes long! But what the hell! It's pretty damn good. Filmed in August 2017 by our great friend Allan Kaplan. Yes its not perfect, but what in life is? Filling in on bass is Kevin Nortness, who is also our sax player. Take some time out of your busy day, relax, give it a spin, groove!
