Our 10th Birthday

Our 10th birthday is here. It’s been a full decade since we embraced the name Some’tet, entering this world on September 28th, 2015. I remember, vaguely, how squishy and wrinkled Some’tet looked. So vulnerable! So wide eyed! So not innocent and guilty as sin as hell! Smelled funny too.

We had gigged under several other monikers — The Callipygous Trio, ZazzerZuzz, and a few other laughable attempts that nobody, anywhere could ever pronounce, let alone spell. But here we are a decade from our christening, several hundred gigs under our belt, all swathed with a helluva lagniappe of notes and chords and noise and work and happy flukes.

So everybody! Raise your glass. Here’s to the music, to more experimentation, to greater solos, to greater songs, to more fine moments to come, to more fun and camaraderie, to Some’tet! Cheers! And to all of you ‘Tets and guest ‘Tets who have made it happen – Barry, Patrick, Christine, Kevin, Dodd, Dianne, Monica, Wes, Rusty, Dylan, Michael, Bill, Bruce, Ethan, Seth, William, Makena, Dan, Andy … thank you!
